1. Ardenwood Historic Farm

4. Old Mission San Jose

Old Mission San Jose is a historic Spanish mission in Fremont, California which was founded in the year 1797 by the Franciscan order.

This mission is the 14th mission in California built by the Spanish.

As a result of the Mexican secularization act in 1833, the Mission went into decline. Later on, many of those original structures were reconstructed.

After it was reconstructed, the Saint Joseph Catholic Church went on to use this old mission church as its chapel.

16. Dumbarton Bridge

Dumbarton Bridge connects San Mateo and the Alameda Counties. This bridge is the narrowest part of San Francisco Bay. The bridge has the Menlo Park on its west and Newark on its west.

The Dumbarton Bridge existing today is not the first built, it is actually the second one. The first Bay Bridge was built in the year 1927 by the Dumbarton Bridge Company for vehicles to travel on it.

By the 1940s, the bridge has become too congested and very insufficient to bear the ever-growing traffic.

The new Dumbarton Bridge was completed years later in 1984. It is about 8,600 feet long, with a vertical clearance of 85 feet, made with steel box girders covered with concrete.

This new bridge has three lanes in each direction along with a pedestrian and bike lane.

In association with Family Billiards, California Billiards, Freezer’s Ice House and Point of View Pool Media, the highly anticipated, ‘West Coast Swing’ of pool tournaments and action are confirmed with dates and added monies. Now in its 6th year, ‘The West Coast Swing’ events are a coordinated effort between POV Pool Media the west coast’s most popular billiard venues with a mission to promote the best that cue-sports have to offer.

The West Coast Swing events and tournaments are regarded as a series of stepping stones for professional pool players and top amateurs, seeking the high-level competition and generous payouts whilst on the road to Las Vegas to play the CSI U.S. Open 10-ball and 8-ball Championship events, held annually at ‘Griffs’ Bar and Billiards. 22nd Annual Holiday Ale Festival Lineup Announced

The 22nd annual Holiday Ale Festival will take place Nov. 29 through Dec. 3 at Pioneer Courthouse Square, located at 701 SW Sixth Ave. in Portland, Oregon. (The event annually starts the Wednesday following Thanksgiving). The Northwest’s only outdoor winter beer festival – which is tented and heated – will feature 55 craft beers, ciders and meads in the main lineup, all of which are made or blended specifically for the event.

In addition, the festival will also feature a number of Meet the Brewer events and dozens of specialty and rare beer tappings. The Holiday Ale Festival is highly regarded as presenting one of best lineups of winter beers and ciders anywhere in the nation.

What makes this festival standout from other similar events is the selection: the festival works with every brewery involved to make sure they send a product that has either been made or blended specifically for the event, or is a rare or vintage beer that isn’t commonly tapped in the state. (See the end of this release for the 2017 list of participants; or visit Google Drive to view or download a spreadsheet.)

Despite being held outdoors during one of the coldest months of the year, more than 14,000 festival attendees stay dry throughout the five-day festival under clear-topped tents warmed by gas heaters. An elaborate scaffolding design creates a second level for the venue, dubbed the Sky Bar, which serves additional taps and provides ample elbow room for attendees to relax, spread out and even peek at the revelers below.

To enter and consume beer, the purchase of an entry package is required. Advance general admission costs $35 and includes the 2017 tasting glass – a flexible BPA & BPS-free polymer “glass” – and 14 taster tickets, plus expedited entry all five days with the print at home ticket. General admission at the door is the same price, but includes only 12 tickets and no expedited entry. Advance VIP packages cost $100 and include the tasting glass, 30 taster tickets, special VIP beer lines with little to no waiting, exclusive VIP only vintage beers, bottled water, and express entry all five days. VIP tickets are limited to 250 and are not available at the door. Advance tickets are available at www.holidayale.com beginning Oct. 20.

Once inside the festival, most full pours costs four tickets, and a taster costs one ticket. Certain limited release and special tappings may not be available in full pours, or may cost extra tickets. Additional taster tickets can be purchased for $1 apiece. Previous years’ mugs or glasses will not be filled. Express re-entry requires a wristband and the 2017 tasting glass, and is subject to the festival’s capacity.

Designated drivers in a party of two or more may purchase a designated driver wristband for $10, which includes Crater Lake Soda or bottled water for the duration of the stay. One hundred percent of the money raised by the DD program, as well as from the onsite coat and bag check and the Crater Lake Soda Garden, is donated to the Children’s Cancer Association’s MyMusicRx Program, which delivers the healing power of music to the bedsides of children and teens facing cancer and other serious illnesses.

There will also be two food vendors, as well as self-guided cheese and beer pairings. Event hours are 11am to 9:30pm Wednesday through Saturday, and 11am to 5pm Sunday. To avoid lengthy lines, the festival encourages patrons to attend Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. The Holiday Ale Festival is for ages 21 and over.

Well, POV Pool will be left with an ‘8’ at the end of 2017. But, before we get there, we’ve got patterns to play, a cue-ball to control and even more balls to sink. Covering the men’s singles, women’s singles, mixed teams, women’s teams and scotch doubles competitions, we invite you to join us live for the action with a rotation of guest commentators, live bracket updates and other ACS related news and announcements. Added money and live streaming services are made possible in part by OB Cues, Jerry Olivier Custom Cues, Bryant Billiards and Red Tree Jewelry.

November 4th-5th • Hard Times Billiards 1st Weekend!

This November, our return home to Hard Times Billiards, Bellflower will be a little different. Yes, of course the Hard Times ‘1st weekend tournaments; One-Pocket Saturday and 9-Ball Sunday, will be streaming live on our YouTube Channel and, to sweeten the pot this month, POV Pool will hold a small raffle of various accessories from Tiger Products and Outsville Inc., bringing some Accu Racks and Great White Chalk! We will also be giving away Scott Frost and Mika Immonen DVD’s and a couple of posters from the 2016 West Coast Swing events and a very special gift from Tom Wirth; his book entitled “One Pocket: A Game of Controlled Aggression”. A percentage of the proceeds from this raffle will be added to this month’s prize fund so, don’t be a turkey this November and rack-em up!

December 1st-3rd • POV Pool’s 6th Anniversary!

California Billiards in Fremont, is currently taking entries and will host POV Pool’s 6th anniversary tournaments featuring, some of the best of California’s talent-pool and, a few surprise entrants from other parts of the world. The 3-day event will kick off with a $300 added single elimination early evening ‘9 Ball’ tournament and, followed by a 2-day, $2,000 added one-pocket tournament. West State Billiards and POV Pool Present this year’s ‘West Coast Swing’ tournaments and action; beginning on July 1st in San Francisco at Family Billiards for the 5th Annual Cole Dickson 9-Ball tournament, then on south to California Billiards in Fremont for the West Coast Challenge: One-pocket and 9-ball tournaments and an additional 4-day, ‘action match’ between Tony Chohan and Dennis Orcollo; and south again on July 15th to Hard Times Billiards (Bellflower) for the $3,000 added Hard Times 9-Ball tournament. We have officially locked dates, formats and are taking entries for 2017’s ‘West Coast Swing’.
